Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival & Parade
On Saturday, September 24th the 7th and 8th grade OV Marching Band and Drill Team will participate in the
Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival Parade in Leavenworth. Packets and permission slips will
go home with students. Completed forms MUST be turned in by the 15th to the Booster
Lock box in Mr. Ray's Band Room. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
When: Saturday, September 24th
Where: Leavenworth, Washington
What: OV Marching Band in Parade
Who: 7th and 8th Grade Band and Drill
Schedule:
7:00 AM - Arrive at OV. Look at the list for bus assignment and then load buses.
Come dressed in uniform. White pants should be clean, ironed and the correct hem length. If you grew this year adjust your pants.
Wear black socks, white undergarments and tuck in your band shirt.
Also, make sure your black belt is properly put in each belt loop and that it is fastened military style.
7:30 AM - Buses depart for Leavenworth.
10:30 AM - Arrive in Leavenworth and stage for parade.
10:45 AM - Pick up instruments and get ready for practice.
12:00 PM - Parade starts
3:40 PM - Load buses for return to OV
4:00 PM - Buses depart for OV
6:30 PM - Buses arrive at OV * Approximate arrival time: PARENTS please arrive at 6:15 to pick up your 7th and 8th graders.*
Cost: $33.00 Per student
This is a voluntary trip due to the cost involved. Payment must accompany the permission slips when turned in.
This fee applies whether you ride the bus or not. Students will be allowed to sign up for buses when paperwork is turned in.
No refunds or cancellations after September 16th.
Food:
Students will need to bring their own lunch or money for lunch. No meals will be provided.
There are plenty of places to eat in Leavenworth if your student wishes to purchase food in town.
They will have free time to shop and eat after the parade.
Chaperones:
We will need at least 25 chaperones to ride the busses with the students to make this trip happen.
If you are interested in chaperoning, please fill in space on attached Parade Sign up Sheet.
Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate non-band and non-Drill Team member children of chaperones on the buses.
Chaperones will need to be at OV by 6:30 AM the day of the trip.
Please meet in the band room for instructions.
You will be contacted by Monday September 19th if you have been selected to be a chaperone.

All volunteers need to have a Washington State Patrol and Mukilteo School District background check turned in at Olympic View prior to volunteering.

The forms can be faxed, scanned, or dropped off at the OV main office, however it is a district policy that photo ID must be presented in person at the office. The fax number is 425-366-5202.
Medications:
All students with medical needs should be prepared to take care of themselves.
OV and the booster staff are not allowed to administer any type of medications.
We encourage those parents with students who need medical attention to join us on the trip.
Inhalers should be carried by your student if they have/need one. Other meds must be carried by the student's parent.
Uniforms:
HAVE YOUR STUDENT TRY ON THEIR UNIFORM ASAP. They will need to wear their uniforms on the bus to Leavenworth as there is no place to change once we arrive.
Band:
Black Drillmaster Marching Shoes
Black socks
White Marching Pants
Black Uniform Belt
Green OV Band Shirt (Shirts will be distributed at school)
Black Pony Tail Holder for all kids with long hair (girls and boys)
Drill:
White Long Sleeve Drill Team shirt [pulled back with black pony tail holder]
White tank top/camisole [worn underneath- NO COLOR or PRINT]
Black Drill Team pants
All white athletic shoes
All white socks
Black pony tail holder [bangs out of eyes]
Green Ribbon around pony tail

Rooter Seats:
On a space available basis there may be some seats open on the buses with the students.
The cost of these seats is $33.00 per seat. You will not be responsible for any chaperone duties,
but remember, these are the same buses the students are on, so it will be noisy.
Send payment along with your student's permission slip. Rooter seats are available first come first serve.
You will be notified on Monday, September 19th if you have a seat on the bus.
Post Parade:
If your child will not be riding the bus home from Leavenworth you MUST send a note indicating who they are to be released to.
If you decide your student will not be riding the bus home after arrival in Leavenworth, you MUST check them out with one of the chaperones,
Photo ID is required. This is for the safety of our students.
